This true story tells the reader what you sometimes have to do because you are the only one that can do it. We voted to 'STRIKE" the school system because the Mayor was controlling any possible increase in salary for teachers by 'EMBEZZLING THE MONEY' for his and his 'friends' personal use. This amounted to millions of dollars. He would have gotten away with this except for the 'TEACHER'S STRIKE' and our willingness to go 'all the way' regarding this event. This effort alerted the Federal authorities to this situation. They observed our 'job action' and our arrests. We were sentenced to jail by a judge that was appointed to the bench through the influence the Mayors partner in this crime. In the end we won the war but also suffered a lot of pain(jail) in doing this. It was the right thing to do! The lesson here is, "DO THE RIGHT THING!" even if it hurts. All of our jail records were expunged!!!
