Black People Are Simply People

I taught elementary school in the inner-city for thirty-plus years. Almost all of my students were of color. Many, if not most of them were from one-parent families. Needless to say, incomplete families with only a mother in charge, can often result in children that have unusual behavior habits. The mothers were often overwhelmed with problems that often affected their children. This is where classroom behavior and learning generally became a problem. None of this was the child’s fault but rather simply another issue that these kids had to endure and successfully overcome to become successful Americans. I have to say that most of these children became adults that are successful. However, some of them fell into the drug scene and suffered enormously from that mistake.

The current Governor of Florida seems to feel that the children of slaves that were brought into his State were treated with care and understanding. He is misinformed and basically ‘dumb’ regarding this. He is also misinformed regarding the black slaves that were dumped in his State. They were forced into jobs that required them to quickly learn how to do a job that could possibly injure them or cause death. Many died from injuries. It’s amazing how dumb some politicians can be regarding the history of America and their own States. This is a prime example and he seems not to care that he is way off base.

The facts are indisputable! Black people were captured in their own lands, and chained together in the bottom of some sailing ship. They often died in chains because of the treatment they received. I’m not black, but my fur goes up when I see some white public servant preach lies to the American people.

The absolute truth is that these people were treated worse than any animal and many died at the hands of their captors. Shame on the governor of Florida and anyone that believes his lies.
